WIKIs
Twilight! Who has the time or the inclination to write a wiki about fictional characters froma a second rate book? Who are these people? Again I find myself thinking that it's all such a waste of time. I just looked through the games and public libraries discussion forum and the NSW advisory service wiki and they were both really boring and didn't seem to have much on them. On the whole I didn't find any of these wikis interesting or useful, maybe I just don't care that much about any one subject. I don't know what sort of wiki Swan could have that would be interesting.

May not be useful for anything with the public, but wikis could be used internally for documents or procedures that more than one person has input into.
ReplyDeleteWikis don't have to be open, they can be closed to all but the few peope who are writing the document?
The fact that wikipedia has 3,489,615 articles in English (as well as millions in other languages) all created/edited/read by people around the world, not to mention that wikileaks is currently a hot news item, prove that wikis can be immensely interesting, helpful and a bunch of other positive adjectives.
ReplyDeleteHi.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your frog bog - frogs are sooo good. Love what you have done with the fish on this blog.
On a personal level Wikis wouldn't be any good for me either, but I do see how it could be put to use in an organisation. Have fun with the rest of the training.
ReplyDeleteLike all things wikis can be used for good or evil.
